TIER has developed comprehensive analysis and position papers on each element of policy reform outlined in our mission statement, as follows.
All of the policy papers are currently being reviewed by our staff and policy advisors for necessary updates and recommendations. Additional postings and policy releases are scheduled through the first quarter of 2012. In particular, there will be new releases on academic accountability, academic standards, student assessments, educator effectiveness, financial accountability and productivity, and innovation, deregulation, and competition. Common Ground
While not adopted as TIER policy, TIER Chairman Jim Windham and Director Sandy Kress participated with colleagues Don McAdams, Mike Moses, and David Thompson in a year-long project which resulted in the drafting and publication of a comprehensive policy document entitled Common Ground, a Declaration of Principles and Strategies for Texas Education Policy, which was presented to business, education, and political leaders in late 2008.
